    5月25日下午，第十二屆“外研社杯”全國(guó)英語(yǔ)辯論賽在北京外研社國(guó)際會(huì)議中心落下帷幕。由我校外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院弓軍老師帶隊(duì)、英語(yǔ)系2005級(jí)學(xué)生王靜和陳晨組成的北京理工大學(xué)代表隊(duì)，經(jīng)過(guò)四天9場(chǎng)循環(huán)賽的激烈角逐，最終從120支來(lái)自全國(guó)各地的高校代表隊(duì)中脫穎而出，獲得全國(guó)三等獎(jiǎng)。

    “外研社杯”全國(guó)大學(xué)生英語(yǔ)辯論賽由外語(yǔ)教學(xué)與研究出版社主辦，國(guó)際口語(yǔ)聯(lián)盟和中國(guó)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)研究會(huì)合辦，由英國(guó)文化協(xié)會(huì)提供贊助，是目前為止公認(rèn)的我國(guó)水平最高、影響最大的年度英語(yǔ)辯論賽事，代表了國(guó)內(nèi)英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)教學(xué)的最高水平。

    本屆“外研社杯”全國(guó)大學(xué)生英語(yǔ)辯論賽共有清華大學(xué)、北京師范大學(xué)、北京外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)、北京理工大學(xué)、外交學(xué)院、中央財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)、復(fù)旦大學(xué)、同濟(jì)大學(xué)、上海外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)等來(lái)自全國(guó)各地的120所高校參加。

    本次大賽的賽程和評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)均采用與國(guó)際辯論慣例接軌的美國(guó)“議會(huì)制”規(guī)則，對(duì)選手綜合素質(zhì)要求很高。大賽所涉及的辯題廣泛，包括時(shí)政、經(jīng)濟(jì)、教育、移民、交通、健康、民生、食品、國(guó)際組織等，我校兩位選手比賽時(shí)遇到的辯題有：
1. China shouldn’t ban factory farming
2. China should cancel the torch relay to honor the victims of the earthquake
3. China should require an annual physical health examination for all its citizens
4. Children of migrant workers should have the same rights to education as local children.
5. Beijing should ban private automobiles from the city center.
6. The May Festival should not have been shortened.
7. The UN should have a standing military force.
8. ASEAN should abandon its Non-Intervention Policy.
9. All food exporting nations should contribute 5% of their net exports to an international food bank.
